ANNUAL PARISH MEETING - CHAIRMANS REPORT
Cosy Corner held in the Jubilee room has had another successful year “Started as a warm space” it has become a gathering place for wonderful people sharing either games or just chatting for a few hours on Monday everyone is welcome it’s open from 11am til 3 pm we thank our friends and everyone for their contribution on the day .
Xmas Market was another fantastic success the demand for stalls exceeded expectations we would like to thank the Dunholme & District Indoor Bowls committee for their support in making space available in the bowls club and the village for their continued support.
Once again the village hall and bowls club were decorated with Christmas lights we also added lights to the tall tree by the V/H entrance adding to the Xmas spirit it looks wonderful. The PC has received many positive comments.
The challenges in organising such an event cannot be under estimated particularly in taking bookings over the year BUT the potential stress when dealing with and organising stall holders on the day. I would like to acknowledge Cllr Sarah Keetleys tireless contribution in making the market a success.
XMAS TREE LIGHTING
The lighting of Xmas Tree located on Mainwaring close has seen the attendance increase each year, last December were delighted to be entertained by Brownies singing carols.
Perhaps we should consider creating a more festive atmosphere for the lighting ceremony in2024
VILLAGE ROADS
The parish council haves been constantly in contact LCC highways regarding the condition of the roads in the village. A meeting was arranged with a representative of LCC highways and a county councillor & we drove around all the roads in the village the outcome was Lincoln road & Ryland road were resurfaced while only a small number of oversize pots were treated.
Honeyholes Lane mysteriously was ignored it remains in an appalling condition and the PC shall continue to remind the LCC Highways.
SEATING AROUND THE VILLAGE
We have replaced a number old & damaged seats with new seating manufactured with recyclable material more are planned should you have any particular site in mind , please contact the PC
NEW PROPOSED PLAY AREA HONEYHOLES LANE
The concept was for a play area which met special needs equipment for all ages & abilities
Cllr Carrie Forrester took on the lead role regarding the type of equipment that would be required.
A huge part of the project involved survey’s at the local Primary school, Play group, parents young & not so young along with any potential users of the equipment.
A final plan was put together with KOMPAN play equipment supplier.
The next step was funding we applied and unfortunately were in this instance unsuccessful.
The concept is fantastic & we need to see a conclusion and the play area become a reality.
CHANGE OF VILLAGE GRASS CUTTING CONTRACTOR
The Parish council went out to tender: We considered all the applications voted to change to: future Farming
